It hard to say what is the best thing to do because there are too many best thing to do on this island. Activities are ready on the island so what you have to prepare more are sunblock lotion, some good book, camera, cool glasses. Only this few items can make you feel so good even you go no where on the island but lay down on the hammock under the shade or on the beach.
Koh lipe is in south of Thailand. It is close to border to Malaysia. Koh Lipe is a part of Tarutao National park where has many more island nearby. Koh Lipe has a long white sand beach. Crystal clear water with turquoise color. This is the main factor to make you feel like here is your best place for holiday.
Koh lipe is a real peaceful place to visit. It is not a big island and there is no car. There is few motorcycles on the island. There are 3 main beaches which are Sunset Beach, Sunrise Beach and Pattaya Beach. The Pattaya beach is like the island center. There is small concrete path on the island. The walking street with amenities. People also use long tail boat service when they want to go around.
On walking street, you can find shops, restaurants, internet shops, travel agent, dive shops, tattoo artists, spa along the way. There are variety of shops, some is selling beach stuff such as flip-flops, beach style dress, jewelry (local style shop). There are small mini-marts where you can buy sunblock lotion, water, postcard. By the way, there are limited of choices. If you have anything which you can not live without, please bring it with you.
One of the best thing to do when you come to Koh Lipe is snorkeling. There are sea kayaks and snorkel set to hire from many places along the beach. There are free map showing snorkeling sites for all tourists. By this, you can have one and just start snorkel around. No need to swim too far from the beach because you can easily find butterfly fish, anemone fish or Moorish idols. You also have choice to hire a long tail boat and visit other nearby island or buy snorkeling package. By this, you don’t miss any cool snorkeling spots. Normally the snorkeling package will take you to 4 – 5 islands and all of them are the best. The package including lunch, and snorkeling equipment and local guide who drive the boat for you. Some island, you can see monkeys as well. The sea eagles are another animal you can see around during the trip.
Another popular activity is diving. There are many dive operators on the island. Ocean Pro Dive and Forra Dive are the biggest dive operators in Koh Lipe. There are plenty of dive sites at varying levels of difficulty. The dive operators will offer a range of courses starting from discover scuba up. You will always have chance to see manta ray, and whale sharks. The corals are absolutely beautiful.
Some of the site are not always accessible because of the monsoon and season. It is better to check with the dive operator before sign up.
