Our favourite Koh Lipe

WOW! @ Lipe Island

Today I have a very wonderful experience from my trip to Lipe Island to share with everyone. Lipe Island or Koh Lipe is a true paradise on earth in my idea. It is supreme destination where is unforgettable for my whole life.

Lipe is in Satun province, a nice and peaceful destination of Thailand Southern part. Satun is small province of Thailand but it has rich of real natures. Lipe is a part of Tarutoa National Marine Park and Lipe is the place where we can have accommodations as other surrounded attractions don’t have any resort or any place to stay. Here on Lipe Island, you can also learn the way of life of Orang Laut or what we normally call “Urak-Lawoi” the sea gypsies.

We take boat from Pakbara Pier in the morning and it takes 1.30 hours to reach Lipe Island. We arrive Lipe Island at 12.30 pm and check in at small resort in the center of the Island. We don’t stop by Tarutao Island as we have only short holiday so we focusing on boat trip to other islands around. By the way, next time when we come back here again, we will stop by Tarutao Island as it has lot of interesting history which is also good to learn.

I am still remembering the first feeling once I step on Lipe Island. I have never and ever seen any place in Thailand where has true white sand beach as here. It is real white and of course that it is extremely beautiful than what I have expected. I fall in love with this place immediately.

Our accommodation is a small resort where is 5 minutes away from Pattaya Beach (name of the main arrival beach, not Pattaya beach in Chonburi). After check in, I go back to the beach for longtail boat and start to make a trip to other attraction around.

I have our lunch on longtail boat for saving time. We started from snorkeling to see clown fish at Rawee Beach. And next, we move to see a fantastic and colorful coral at Jabang. I can not believe how beautiful it is. The coral is still perfect. It is absolutely gorgeous. Later, we go to Koh Hin Ngam. This island doesn’t have sand as others but it has full of shiny circular black stoned. We hear that if we can vertically line up 13 stones, we can make a wish and it will come true. After Koh Hin Ngam, we take the boat back to Lipe Island for having dinner at Warin Resort.

After having a tasteful dinner, we walk to Roti shop for glass of ice tea together with egged roti and roti with banana assorted. The atmosphere is as great as what I have heard before. People here are very friendly and helpful.

Next day, we take longtail boat again for Koh Khai Island. This place is one of most important and we can not skip it. On Koh Khai, there is the “Stone Gate” which is Satun Tourist Symbol. After Koh Khai, the boat takes us back to Lipe Island for taking ferry back to Pakbara Island.

I promise with myself to go back to Tarutao Natinal Marin Park again as soon as possible. There are so many more attractions where is didn’t visit yet. We also plan to visit the view point and visit all beaches on Lipe Island. We also want to vist Langkawi (Malaysia) next time for some shopping. We love Lipe and we will definitely go back there again next year.
